SLSC Tooting Bec Lido

Today was the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships 2019 where some of our friends braved the water for a charity ‘jump-in’ for Crisis, relays, races and an award for the best hat – the costumes and makeup alone are worth seeing! https://www.slsc.org.uk/cwsc/

At 100 yards long and 30 yards wide and containing 100 million gallons of water, Tooting Bec Lido is the largest fresh water pool in England and home to the South London Swimming Club (SLSC) members’ club. Founded in 1906, SLSC is one of the UK’s oldest swimming clubs.

We were really pleased to be invited to be part of the SLSC fundraising stall this year selling our Lido prints, coasters, mousemats and cards. A really friendly and sociable event so great to bump into even more friends than anticipated.

Here are some of our prints and artwork developed over the past few years.

The Sprout Arts Affordable Art show – on until Saturday 11th May 2019

Sprout Arts is very close to our hearts. What was intended to be a 6 month pop-up art gallery in a former greengrocer’s shop on Moyser Road in Furzedown in 2010, continues to evolve and go from strength to strength 9 years on.

The Sprout Affordable Art show has become and annual event which we are taking part in again this year along with 22 other artists, showing approx. 70 pieces of artwork. Here are the pieces included in the exhibition.

Capturing what makes our community special..

.
There are many things we love about our work. As well as doing something we love every day, some of the best moments are the people we meet. We are lucky to work with so many families, businesses and community projects. This year has been no exception. Volunteer-run organisations can only inspire us and remind us of how important community and supporting each other really is.
.
One such organisation we had the privilege of photographing this summer for their new website, was Little Village. We met the most amazing volunteers dedicated to ensuring every family who walks through their doors, has the help they need. Little Village has the warmest and friendliest feeling and the children we met had some of the biggest smiles we’ve photographed this year.
..
.
“Little Village is like a foodbank, but for clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children up to the age of five. Our dream is that no child in the capital grows up without essential items for daily life” – Little Village website.
